The British School Kathmandu (TBS) is a not-for-profit, independent international school in Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur, established in 1966 by British and Commonwealth parents seeking a British-style education in Nepal. The school now serves students aged 3–18 from more than 40 nationalities.
TBS follows the English National Curriculum, with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) used alongside English National Curriculum Mathematics and English in the primary years. Students later follow Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International A Level syllabi.
The school places strong emphasis on academic excellence, creativity, confidence, compassion, leadership and community involvement, with a broad extracurricular program and opportunities for students to participate in sports, arts, expeditions and international activities.
